Alyssa and Israel are high school sweethearts that met when they were only 15 years old! Their story is a true love story that began at Coral Reef Senior High School and led them down the aisle this past weekend. Together, they are the definition of soulmates. From the moment they met as kids, they had that connection that led to friendship and romance. They have grown up together and motivated each other to be the amazing people they are today. Their wedding day was years in the making and was such a beautiful beginning to the next chapter as husband and wife. We feel so honored to have been there to capture those memories for them!
We met Alyssa and Israel back in January when they booked us for their engagement session and December wedding date. December is among the most popular month’s to get married in South Florida so we encourage couples to book us as soon as they book their venue to ensure that we have their day available. We only shoot one wedding per day and once we are booked we have to send the dreaded email stating that the day is no longer available. It’s never really too soon to book us – we have already booked our first wedding for 2020! Luckily, we were available for Alyssa and Israel’s big day and what a lovely day it was!
They could not have chosen a more perfect day to say “I do”. Their ceremony took place at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Boca Raton followed by a gorgeous reception at The Addison. It was a daytime wedding which was full of love, delicious food, and dancing – so much dancing! A good time was had by all. Everything was spectacular – from the anticipation of seeing each other as they got ready early in the morning to the awesome bubble send off by their friends and family. We hope that you enjoy this blog post as much as we enjoyed capturing every moment. Congrats Alyssa and Israel!

Miami Wedding PhotographersWe always get excited when we get a message from a wedding planner asking, “Do you have this date available?” We love it because we know that if a couple is referred through a wedding planner there’s a great chance they are recommending us because we have worked together in the past and they liked our style and service. They contact us because they already know we will be a good fit with their client. We get excited because working together with one of the many fantastic wedding coordinators in South Florida means that everything is sure to look amazing, the day will be organized, and even the smallest details will be handled with professionalism. We get excited because it means collaborating with a colleague in the business and sharing a laugh or two. We just get excited! Now- we triple that excitement when the question comes from one of favorites – Events by Gigi! This is exactly what occurred October of last year when Gigi simply asked if we were available to shoot a wedding on November 11, 2018 for a sweet couple – Alisan and Robbie. It turned out that we had the date free and we are grateful that we did or not we would not be able to present this beautiful couple in this blog today.
Alisan and Robbie had such a spectacular wedding day. It was truly one of those perfect Fall days in Miami with blue skies and just enough coolness in the air to let you know it’s not summertime anymore. The sunny weather must have been a delight to their 200+ guests who all arrived from the Northeast to celebrate with the happy couple. The whole event took place at the Coral Gables Country Club. This is where the two first saw each other in their wedding attire during an intimate first look and portrait session right before the ketubah signing ceremony. Just as the sun began to set, all of their guests awaited to witness the two exchange vows under the chuppah – symbolizing the home they will build together. And by the looks of all the friends and family surrounding them, they will be building a home full of love. Once the marriage was made official, it was time to drink, eat, and dance the night away!
The ballroom was impeccable! It was clear that their vision was perfectly executed into a sea of white floral arrangements with hints of gold. We were just as blown away with the decor as the bride and groom were! It was the perfect setting for Alisan and Robbie’s first dance as man and wife. No Jewish wedding is complete without the Hora, or chair dance. In this tradition, a few strong and brave guests hoist the bride and groom high above the crowd on chairs to the infectious sounds of “Hava Nagila” played by the amazing band. It was so much fun! And the fun continued through the night. What a fantastic way to start a marriage!
So, to say that we were excited for this wedding is an understatement – and now we are excited to share some of our favorite highlights with you. Please join us in congratulating Alisan and Robbie as we wish them a lifetime of happiness!

They did it! Jocelyn and Andrew tied the knot! If you keep up with our blog, you may remember these two from the photos of their engagement session at Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens. We are excited to announce that they are now husband and wife.
Their day could not have been more incredible. It was an early start at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables as they each got ready in their respective rooms. It is so important for us to capture this stage of the day and all the details that go into getting ready – the dress, the shoes, the rings… the cuff-links, the shot glasses! If an item is prominently in the room, we like to assume it has a special meaning. We will take its picture! All of these things contribute to making the day unique. There are also special moments that we don’t want to miss – the first time mom smiles as she buttons up her daughter’s bridal gown or when the groom has a last toast with his groomsmen before he is off to see his bride. These are moments we, as wedding photographers, know to anticipate yet have to be quick to capture.
We took advantage of the gorgeous day and the Biltmore’s iconic architecture for portraits of the couple prior to the ceremony. They had had some practice at their engagement shoot and by their wedding day, these two were experts at posing! This helped a lot as we were able to get through the photos of the two of them in minimal time so that they could freshen up before they said “I do”!
Jocelyn and Andrew’s ceremony took place at The Church of the Little Flower Catholic Church, also in Coral Gables. The church is built in a Spanish Renaissance style with a majestic domed ceiling. Jocelyn looked absolutely stunning walking down its long aisle as Andrew had one of the best grins we’ve ever seen on a groom!
Once these two were officially married, it was time to party! They reunited with all of their friends and family just a short drive south at Vista Lago Ballroom. As guests enjoyed a cocktail (or two) outside, the couple took a moment to themselves to admire their ballroom décor. (Some of our readers may recognize the Game of Thrones inspiration!) The rest of the evening was one big celebration. Jocelyn and Andrew were surrounded by so much love and happiness – what a fantastic start to a marriage! Please join us as we send our warmest wishes to the new Mr. and Mrs.!

If happiness is being married to your best friend, then these two are setting themselves up for a lifetime of smiles! Yadira and Ross have a natural chemistry together and truly complement one another.
We had the honor of shooting their friends’ wedding and now we have the distinct pleasure of preserving memories for them as well! Their South Florida wedding is set for February and is sure to be an event to remember – however, we want to take a moment with this blog to celebrate this special time in their lives, that is, their engagement!
Their engagement session took place in Vizcaya Museum and Gardens and at Key Biscayne – both picturesque locations in Miami. These are popular spots to shoot at for a reason! Although we have worked at these locations countless times, they never get old! For example, we have a clear advantage at Vizcaya having the experience to maneuver around the property with ease – knowing all the best nooks to shoot at. South Florida is hot, especially in the summertime, which is why it helps to be able to shoot efficiently while covering the most ground. This is where knowing where to go comes in handy! As with any place we have shot at many times, we always go in with the mentality that it is our client’s first time taking photos there. We truly do our best in creating a unique experience for them. There are many reasons we can list as to why we love shooting at a new location – the obvious being that it is a new canvas for us to work with. However, it does give the photographer an edge if they are familiar with the property. Having been in the photography business in Miami for almost ten years, we know a lot of these popular locations well! No matter how many times we shoot at a venue, the one thing that is guaranteed to always be unique is the couple- And Yadira and Ross certainly brought their own flair to their engagement shoot!
The engagement session was perfectly timed in the afternoon so that the natural light was just right. As aforementioned, the second location of the shoot took place in Key Biscayne, overlooking the Miami skyline. It was a great fit as Yadira and Ross looked amazingly classy in their attire which only accentuated their good looks. It was a beautiful day and they were just so happy from start to finish. We love keeping our couples smiling throughout the shoot – smiles always make for better photos! Being engaged is such a fun chapter in their love story that smiling just seems more natural than looking serious. We hope you enjoy a peek at their engagement session and hope these pics make you smile too!

As wedding photographers, we take our role as photojournalists pretty seriously. We know that on wedding day, we are not only hired to take gorgeous portraits, but also to capture the events as they unfold naturally. We are artistic storytellers. Our hope is that our images may one day bring our clients back to the moment – as they happened. And with so many special moments that occur during a wedding, our experience allows us to anticipate them. Special moments like the ones on Alejandra and Anthony’s big day.
As with most weddings, the event actually starts way before the guests arrive to the ceremony. With a room full of bridesmaids and make-up artists on one end and groomsmen at the other, the bride and groom begin their day prepping for their big moment with friends and family by their side. It’s the bride slipping into her white gown and the groom buttoning up, in this case, his uniform. These moments are just as important for us to capture – it sets the stage for what’s to come.
Their friends and family gathered at First Miami Presbyterian Church in the heart of Downtown Miami to witness Alejandra and Anthony exchanging their vows. It was full of traditions and sprinkled with personal touches – such as their vows. The ceremony was simply perfect. Accompanied by their military court, their exit from the church was nothing short of spectacular.
After the ceremony, the couple allowed time for us to capture their wedding portraits. This is perhaps one of the only times during the day where we, the photographers, give our couple direction on how to pose. It’s not every day that couples are in front of a camera so it’s important that we make them feel comfortable and have a rhythm of poses so that the images look candid and happy. Our goal is to keep our couples smiling so that we can deliver natural looking photographs that document the first day of their marriage.
Once we were done with portraits, their classic getaway car whisked Alejandra and Anthony just across the bridge to the beautiful Jungle Island where they continued the festivities. There, we continued to catch those special moments – the first dance, the toasts, the dancing! All the elements that make their wedding story special… we were there with camera in hand. Please join us as we wish this special couple a lifetime of joy!

We first learned about Yvette and Diego back in December when we were running our Complimentary Engagement Session contest. We found out quickly that they have a strong network of friends and family. They received tons of votes daily! Although the outcome was not in their favor. We made sure to give perks and incentives to all of the couples. Yvette and Diego luckily did not hesitate to use the perks. We say lucky because it was really a delight to meet these two and we are really looking forward to their wedding. Their wedding date is in November of this year (2017) and it was smart of them to book right away as it was the last Saturday in November we had available!
We have had too many sad encounters with couples who contact us for their wedding date and we are already booked. We only shoot one wedding a day and limit the amount of weddings we shoot in the year in order to bring our clients the absolute best experience we can provide. It is our goal to do this for each of our clients. It brings us so much joy to know that we will be able to offer this experience for Yvette and Diego.
A little about the couple – Yvette recently moved back to South Florida after living in Atlanta, GA. She is now continuing her career as a news producer at WPLG Channel 10. Diego is a co-owner at Temple Street Eatery in Ft. Lauderdale where he is also chef. As you scroll down you may notice Yvette brought her vintage typewriter and Diego brought his notepad of recipe ideas. We used these as props to express their interests. Individually, these two are just cool, interesting people. Together, they are the couple you want to hang out with and not want the evening to end! There was so much laughter during their engagement session that we can only imagine how much fun these two must have on a daily basis.
Their session took place at the beautiful Hugh Birch Taylor State Park in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. This park offered a gorgeous backdrop for their photographs. This state park is an oasis of preserved tropical hammocks just steps from the buzz of Ft. Lauderdale Beach. It is a perfect little escape for any nature lover or anyone just looking for a bit of tranquility. It is always exciting to shoot in a new location. We were pleasantly surprised at all the pretty spots there were to shoot at this park. As lovely as the setting was, the focus of each session is always the couple. Catching their personalities and love for each other in every image is the goal. It wasn’t too difficult to do during this engagement session as it is clear that Yvette and Diego are crazy about each other!
We are so grateful that they took the time to enter our contest and reach out to us to shoot their wedding. As we just closed another contest, we have started communications with our most recent contestants that are also looking into locking in their wedding dates. We can’t wait to learn more about them and capture their love story too!
We hope you enjoy the following preview of Yvette and Diego’s engagement session as much as we enjoyed capturing them.
