There’s a lot to be excited about over this Miami Beach wedding. Every detail was impeccable and every moment was meaningful. Guests drank, dined, and danced the night away under the most beautiful ballroom ceiling in town – all in celebration of the union of Denisse and John. Anyone who knows this couple can attest that their love is certainly worth celebrating!
Getting ready to say “I do” – Denisse and John both got ready at the Miami Beach Resort and Spa. This portion of the day is one of our favorites! There is a lot of preparation that goes on before the big show and we love being there to capture it. It’s important for us to capture all of the details in addition to snapping all of those candid shots. We carefully stage the dress, the shoes and of course, the rings! Makeup shots are a wonderful way to focus on the bride’s beauty as she glams up for her groom. And there is always a bit of raw emotion the moment the bride steps into her gown and is seen by her mom and bridesmaids for the first time. We like to think of the “getting ready” as an event of its own before the main event.
Saying “I do” – The ceremony took place at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. This was the first Catholic parish on Miami Beach and has a beautiful history with the city. The ceremony was both traditional and heartwarming. Having two photographers is usually recommended as it allows us to capture two angles simultaneously. In this case, we were able to catch Denisse as she anxiously waited to enter the church along with her father while also being in place to capture John’s reaction to seeing his bride for the first time in her dress. After the ceremony, we had a very short window of time to take family formals and portraits. It rained a bit while Denisse and John were busy getting married inside – it’s a good thing she found herself a husband willing to help her with her dress so it wouldn’t get wet! We made the best of it and even got some fun shots out of the scenario. Luckily, these two had already pre-planned a post wedding session so a little rain wasn’t an issue for them. They were just ready to get to the party!
They said “I do” – Now that it was official – it was time to celebrate! Back at the Miami Beach Resort and Spa, guests were already enjoying cocktail hour as the couple snuck into the ballroom to view their exquisite décor. The resort’s famous starlight room was simply spectacular, the floral arrangements were breathtakingly beautiful, the up-lighting provided by the DJ company helped set the stage for what was to come, and it was all seamlessly executed by one of the best event planners in the business. We make sure to capture all the perfectly selected details – but the ballroom shot is not complete in our eyes unless the couple is in it. This is their day, their moment, and their décor before it’s touched by guests.
Every wedding, every reception is different. However, this celebration had a few “extras” that put it in a class of its own. We try to expect the unexpected at all weddings so that we are prepared for anything yet it was difficult to be prepared the moment Bernie from the Miami Heat joined the party! Couple his appearance with Hora Loca dancers, a confetti canon shooting 50 lbs. of confetti onto the dance floor and some of the best music mixing in Miami, this was a celebration for the books! Everyone was having fun! It was clear that all their guests were over the moon for Denisse and John tying the knot. We hope you enjoy this sneak peek into their wedding day and join us in congratulating them!

In between editing and planning for our upcoming weddings and holiday sessions, Santy and I have been making plans of our own for this year’s Winter getaway. Every year since we met, we have traveled out of town during this time and this year will be no different. It’s fun to make these memories and of course take lots and lots of pictures! This blog is dedicated to our 2014 Winter trip.
We started this fun road trip in Amelia Island, located right off the coast of Northeast Florida. This barrier island has all the charm you would expect from a historic town and one of the most beautiful beaches I have visited. After dining and a little shopping, we took it back to 1864 with a visit to the historic Fort Clinch as soldiers reenact life during the Civil War. Bobby had a blast exploring all the rooms and chambers!
Next stop – Hilton Head, SC. A few years back we became Disney Vacation Club Members and just love staying at the DVC resorts. There is always something for kids to do for fun while also providing serenity for the adults. Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort provided the best of both. It was a great stay on the path to the following stop.
Our adventure took us north to Boone, NC where I reunited with my sister and her adorable family. They also drove all the way from Tampa, FL to meet us. It’s always fun to spend time with loved ones! Being Florida natives, I recall the cold weather being slightly over our comfort level – but that did not stop us from having some fun! Once there, we all did a bit of exploring of our own by visiting the majestic Grandfather Mountain! Grandfather Mountain has been an icon in North Carolina’s landscape for generations, offering stunning scenery and unmatched ecological diversity. Here you can see that we were extra brave and crossed the mile-high swinging bridge – not a small feat for anyone that fears heights! Leaving this area took us on a sightseeing drive through the famous Blue Ridge Parkway that was simply breathtaking.
If you are up in North Carolina, don’t forget to check out Blowing Rock. It is a neat little town that makes you feel like you are in Europe. The stunning views you get from the actual blowing rock will take your breath away while enticing to explore the surrounding mountain’ trails and waterfalls. Such a fun experience!
We love capturing your most precious moments – we’ve made it our business to do so! But we also love creating our own memories with our loved ones. Spending time with family was the best part of the trip! We hope you enjoy this peek into our life. Now back to planning this year’s vacation…

They did it! Jocelyn and Andrew tied the knot! If you keep up with our blog, you may remember these two from the photos of their engagement session at Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens. We are excited to announce that they are now husband and wife.
Their day could not have been more incredible. It was an early start at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables as they each got ready in their respective rooms. It is so important for us to capture this stage of the day and all the details that go into getting ready – the dress, the shoes, the rings… the cuff-links, the shot glasses! If an item is prominently in the room, we like to assume it has a special meaning. We will take its picture! All of these things contribute to making the day unique. There are also special moments that we don’t want to miss – the first time mom smiles as she buttons up her daughter’s bridal gown or when the groom has a last toast with his groomsmen before he is off to see his bride. These are moments we, as wedding photographers, know to anticipate yet have to be quick to capture.
We took advantage of the gorgeous day and the Biltmore’s iconic architecture for portraits of the couple prior to the ceremony. They had had some practice at their engagement shoot and by their wedding day, these two were experts at posing! This helped a lot as we were able to get through the photos of the two of them in minimal time so that they could freshen up before they said “I do”!
Jocelyn and Andrew’s ceremony took place at The Church of the Little Flower Catholic Church, also in Coral Gables. The church is built in a Spanish Renaissance style with a majestic domed ceiling. Jocelyn looked absolutely stunning walking down its long aisle as Andrew had one of the best grins we’ve ever seen on a groom!
Once these two were officially married, it was time to party! They reunited with all of their friends and family just a short drive south at Vista Lago Ballroom. As guests enjoyed a cocktail (or two) outside, the couple took a moment to themselves to admire their ballroom décor. (Some of our readers may recognize the Game of Thrones inspiration!) The rest of the evening was one big celebration. Jocelyn and Andrew were surrounded by so much love and happiness – what a fantastic start to a marriage! Please join us as we send our warmest wishes to the new Mr. and Mrs.!

Happy Fall Y’all! Ok… so living in South Florida, we have to get a bit creative when describing our Fall season. There are no colorful leaves or a crisp breeze in the air. Cute boots make our feet extra sweaty and there is really no need for flannel or wool. Want to wear that cute knit hat while sipping your Pumpkin Spice Latte? You better be sitting under the A/C vent at your local Starbucks because that’s as cool as it’s going to get. Do I love South Florida and our Faux Fall? Yes, and Yes! I am a fan of palm trees and the ocean…. and soon those Fall days when the weather turns slightly less humid than our Summer months. I live for those rare Fall nights when we can sit outside without the assistance of a fan. It means Hurricane Football Season and pop-up pumpkin patches. Florida Fall equates to Epcot’s Wine and Food Festival and Disney’s Not-So-Scary-Halloween! As South Florida wedding photographers, it also means Wedding Season in Miami, with snowbirds and locals alike exchanging vows. It’s truly a beautiful time of year in Florida – even if for different reasons than the traditional Northern standard of Autumn. It’s not a surprise that we are such a popular destination this time of year. Now that I have established my love for Florida Fall, I can acknowledge the other version….
Today we would like to blog about the time we experienced this mysterious Fall season that growing up, I only read about or have seen in movies… A few years ago, Santy and I traveled to St. Louis, MO to capture an engagement session to a couple of awesome Miami transplants. I really did not know what to expect as I had never experienced a true change of season (#miamigirlproblems – read above for clarification). I can say with confidence that I was not disappointed! The colorful leaves were unreal! I saw yellows and reds and oranges that looked like they were painted onto the leaves – if I had not touched it myself I may not have believed they could exist in nature. The chill in the air led to the need for leather boots and scarves, it was almost a comforting feeling that made the grey St. Louis sky seem bearable. Our first stop was Forest Park. Once home to the 1904 World’s Fair, it is one of the largest urban parks in the United States. It attracts 12 million visitors a year with world-class attractions and scenic walking and biking trails. It provided a stunning backdrop for the engagement session and our couple was awesome enough to even snap a few rare photos our way. Our trip to St. Louis also included a visit to the famous Saint Louis Zoo -one of the city’s many free attractions, this zoo has been recognized as one of the nation’s leading zoological parks. We had a ton of fun there and even made friends with the big apes! We of course took a trip to see the city’s iconic Gateway Arch. I took the 630-foot ride to the top of this world-famous stainless-steel monument while Santy safely stayed on the ground! The views from the top were quite breathtaking. From there, we took a short stroll to see where the St. Louis Cardinals play at Busch Stadium. A visit to Saint Louis would not have been complete without checking out the historic Anheuser-Busch Brewery, where you can visit the famous Budweiser Clydesdales!
Please enjoy a glimpse of our “real Fall” trip to St. Louis, MO. We hope to visit again one day! In the meantime, I will go paint my nails in a darker hue and order an Autumn-flavored iced coffee to beat the heat and get into the Florida Fall mood!

This year has been a fantastic one so far in so many ways. As we are geared up and ready for a very active wedding season, we would like to take a moment to reflect on what has made 2017 such a success. Simply put – our clients! We have gotten to know and photograph so many wonderful couples such as these two featured on the blog today. Having clients like Rania and Andy is a huge part of why this year has been so amazing! This is the kind of couple that every wedding photographer dreams about – a warm and happy pair that exudes joy. We can’t begin to express how grateful we are for our clients – like Rania and Andy – who trust us in documenting their love story. From their engagement to their wedding day …and beyond. Our clients are the best!
We have carefully selected some of our favorite images from Rania and Andy’s Miami engagement session to share with you today. Engagement sessions are wonderful because they are much, much more relaxed than the wedding day. We have a chance to get to know each other and have fun as we’re taking photos and establish a connection that will enhance the wedding day. It’s what establishes the bond between our couples and their photographer enabling us to relax and allow us to capture the organic emotions of the day. Rania and Andy’s session is a perfect example of how this works. The whole session took place at the beautiful Vizcaya Museum and Gardens in Coral Gables, FL. For the couple, it was a relaxing stroll through the gardens full of fun and laughter. For us, this stroll is also a learning curve to study the couple – which poses work, which is the “real” smile or simply an observation of how the two interact in order to catch that perfect image. A professional wedding photographer understands posing and all the tricks and techniques that naturally comes from experience. We are able to give the couple direction without it feeling too stiff. The flow of the session feels seamless and by the time their wedding day comes along – they are pros at being in front of the camera! We like to think of the engagement session like a dress rehearsal for the big day.
We hope that you enjoy the following images and get inspired to have an engagement session too! If you are searching for a wedding photographer we would love to chat with you. The year is not over yet and we are excited to meet our future clients!

We have another fun engagement session featured for you today! Jocelyn and Andrew chose to do their shoot at the beautiful Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens located in Delray Beach, FL. We love shooting at Morikami, with their lush landscaping and cool architectural details, it’s a gorgeous backdrop for photographs. According to their website, Morikami’s gardens, named Roji-en: Garden of the Drops of Dew, were designed to be a living exhibit complementing the museum. It’s designer Hoichi Kurisu sought to create a garden complex for the new millennium. Its six distinct gardens are inspired by, but are not replicas of, famous gardens of Japan. If you live in South Florida and have not visited, we highly recommend the trip to this hidden gem. We were sure happy to drive up for this beautiful engagement session! These two are just the sweetest couple and were a joy to capture.
We met Jocelyn and Andrew over a year ago when they came to our Kendall studio. They came to us referred by a recent bride and groom whom we also had the pleasure of photographing their wedding. During our meeting, we got to know each other better and chatted about their future wedding day. Fast forward to today, we are only a couple short weeks away to witnessing their vision for their big day transpire. It’s sure to be an awesome event! We often get asked how soon is too soon to book your wedding photographer. Our recommendation is to book us as soon as you secure the date with the venue. We often, as in Jocelyn and Andrew’s case, get booked up to a year in advance. Contacting us as soon as possible will increase the chances we are available for your wedding date. Not only will you secure us as your wedding photographers, it will also allow you to lock in the current pricing and take advantage of our different finance options. Additionally, booking your photographer early will allow you plenty of time for an engagement session such as this one- these photos can be used for save-the-dates, the engagement party, bridal shower and/or sign-in book for the wedding. Engagement sessions such as the one in this blog is a fun way to celebrate the love between the couple before they make it official – And Jocelyn and Andrew had tons of love to celebrate!
Please enjoy the following images and don’t hesitate to contact us with your inquiries!

If happiness is being married to your best friend, then these two are setting themselves up for a lifetime of smiles! Yadira and Ross have a natural chemistry together and truly complement one another.
We had the honor of shooting their friends’ wedding and now we have the distinct pleasure of preserving memories for them as well! Their South Florida wedding is set for February and is sure to be an event to remember – however, we want to take a moment with this blog to celebrate this special time in their lives, that is, their engagement!
Their engagement session took place in Vizcaya Museum and Gardens and at Key Biscayne – both picturesque locations in Miami. These are popular spots to shoot at for a reason! Although we have worked at these locations countless times, they never get old! For example, we have a clear advantage at Vizcaya having the experience to maneuver around the property with ease – knowing all the best nooks to shoot at. South Florida is hot, especially in the summertime, which is why it helps to be able to shoot efficiently while covering the most ground. This is where knowing where to go comes in handy! As with any place we have shot at many times, we always go in with the mentality that it is our client’s first time taking photos there. We truly do our best in creating a unique experience for them. There are many reasons we can list as to why we love shooting at a new location – the obvious being that it is a new canvas for us to work with. However, it does give the photographer an edge if they are familiar with the property. Having been in the photography business in Miami for almost ten years, we know a lot of these popular locations well! No matter how many times we shoot at a venue, the one thing that is guaranteed to always be unique is the couple- And Yadira and Ross certainly brought their own flair to their engagement shoot!
The engagement session was perfectly timed in the afternoon so that the natural light was just right. As aforementioned, the second location of the shoot took place in Key Biscayne, overlooking the Miami skyline. It was a great fit as Yadira and Ross looked amazingly classy in their attire which only accentuated their good looks. It was a beautiful day and they were just so happy from start to finish. We love keeping our couples smiling throughout the shoot – smiles always make for better photos! Being engaged is such a fun chapter in their love story that smiling just seems more natural than looking serious. We hope you enjoy a peek at their engagement session and hope these pics make you smile too!
